Kinda ruined mine and my husband's date night, as we were all excited to watch and barely laughed twice. I don't know if I expected something different from him due to his age, but his style is exactly the same and now it's kind of annoying (the screaming, the facial expressions, etc.). Giving it 2 stars since we laughed twice.
Didn't realize this was a mini series because I watched it on Tubi but oh my word this goes SO slow with a lot of extra fluff added in that is not necessary for the plot. I can't see how anyone will care about the daughter's ballet career or half the other stuff written into this plot to make it longer. I forwarded through a lot of it to get to the meat. Not sure how to wrap this up except to say I'd pass if I were you.
I literally gasped when I came on here (to write a review) when I saw how low of a score this movie had. I am NOT of fan of this genre of movie - but I was pulled in from the start and basically stayed pulled in until things got crazy unbelievable - but who wouldn't expect that with this genre? Ice Cube seemed very genuine in his role as a caring, overprotective parent - and that is what kept me in the movie. Yes there were some unbelievable parts. But you already knew what you signed up for when you decided to watch a movie called "War of the Worlds." I was entertained (which is uncommon for me - I'm pretty picky with movies).
