This is an odd show. It's strange how Netflex has masterpiece shows like Bojack Horseman and Breaking bad, and then weird stuff like Daybreak.
The concept could appeal to teens or even young adults looking for a Zombieland type TV show. It's clearly supposed to be funny/goofy, action packed, and a good easy watch.
But, the show falls flat because it's just dumb. The acting seems forced, like a bad Disney show, but then they swear left and right trying to be edgy or something. It's like an eleven year old trying to a new Mad Max movie.
Not to mention that it's another weird social justice warrior type show where everything is political. I wouldn't mind this aspect if it was well done, but because the dialogue is so awkward, all of the political stuff comes off as preachy and weird.
Not a good show. To think they cancelled Bojack horseman and produced this. What an odd world we live in.
There are worse shows on Netflex, and this one is good for an occasional laugh. But it is disappointing for viewers looking for something with a satisfying narrative arc and a substantial plot. 5/10

Like many, I decided to give this show a shot because of Rupert Grint--better known as Ron Weasley. However, I was pretty disappointed from the start. What I thought might be the entire conflict of the whole show was resolved in the first episode--the other five of the season were random, poorly written, and pretty stupid. Rupert plays Daniel, who is generally likable, but that doesn't make up for all the messy plot holes and lame side characters. There are a few cheap laughs here and there, but nothing that really strikes me as clever or "witty". Everything about Sick Note screams mediocre to me. After struggling through the first season, I have decided to call it quits. I don't blame any of the actors, I think they are doing pretty well, but the writing comes across as amateurish at best. The basic concept for the show was good I thought, but the delivery is poor--could have been much better.
This was a fun and pretty silly show, but one that I enjoyed.
If you hate romantic comedies, than you probably will not like this show, as that is kind of the focus of the 10 episode season. It was fun for me, personally, to follow a 30 year old female protagonist. She was a unique and interesting character to watch develop, and her problems felt authentic. Go Morimori!
I was a bit disappointed in the game universe. Although the MMO, Fruits de Mer, was a big part of the show, it wasn't a really developed game. It seemed somewhat like WoW I guess, but the mechanics were not really explored much. Instead, it was more a backdrop for social dynamics.
All in all, it was a fun anime to watch, and I'd recommend it to someone wanting to watch something less serious and feel-good. 8/10
