2 hours and 24 minutes of this movie, and I couldn't connect with the plot for a single moment. Does SRK think that whatever he sells in name of romance will be bought by the Indian audience? Are we, the cinema viewers so foolish? This is not a cinematic joke, but a mockery of audiences. SRK has grown old and it was quite visible on screen. The pair no where looked good. Better watch old SRK movies and avoid this Father- daughter type pair. Acting- 0.5/1 Visuals-0.5/1 Music- 0.8/1 Direction- 0.2/1 Story- 0/1 Total- 2/5
We know what Bollywood comedies are. Either they are based on some confusion, or based on some love story or marriage. Mubarakan is a combined package of all the Bollywood comedy formulas. Its a story of two brothers raised in different environments and their marriages. To add the much required fodder, we have Anil Kapoor who never lets us down during this 156 minutes movie that could be shorter if there weren't too many songs and monologues. In the end Mubarakan does manage to give us a good time and proves hilarious at times. A watchable and understandable comedy has come after long, so 7/10 from my side.
Tubelight is one of the biggest disappointments of 2017. The positive aspect of this movie is Salman Khan, and the negative aspect too is Salman Khan. Positive because Tubelight was able to rake some moolah only because of him, and negative because he is unbearable on the screen this time. No doubt he tries hard, but its not his genre and we as audience know what he is capable of. There are only a few actors who prove us wrong and take us by surprise with their acts. Unfortunately Salman Khan is not one of them. However, Kabir Khan did take us by surprise because we expected some top kind of film from him, but he disappointed us. I do not know why was Zhu Zhu casted here and what impact did she make? Useless! The characters are poorly written just to copy the little boy plot with minor changes, but that doesn't surprise at all.
