I delayed watching this movie because I was told it was very depressing. For some reason, I kept associating "depressing" with "not so interesting".
I, obviously, misjudged this one and feel ashamed I waited this long to watch what is frankly an example of : Top Tier Acting.
The story is incredibly heartbreaking and although I felt that something serious must have happened for the protagonists to break up, I could never have imagined what actually happened.
Casey Affleck acted in a way that was so simple, yet jarring and it is no wonder he won an Oscar. He should have won two for that performance.
Michelle Williams has yet to disappoint me in a movie. I remember her from Dawson's Creek and she has come such a long way to barely be in a movie, yet still make such an impact. I absolutely love her and will watch anything she is in.
Lastly, although this film is heartbreaking and terribly depressing, it is also so beautifully made and hauntingly memorable.
I will probably never watch it again, but I am definately glad I watched it.
