  • Feels like it was written by an "FBI" AI machine

This has to be one of the most run-of-the-mill episodes of the show. It's the same-old, same-old of a terrorist stealing items in order to make a bomb. The bomb gets put inside a building and the building has to be evacuated. A team member is reunited with a former colleague, who turns out to have an issue that may make them unsuitable for the job. Jubal yet again insists on talking down the bad guy instead of letting the sniper take a shot and end things. There is absolutely nothing new or interesting to be found here. It feels like the writing team stuffed some data into an AI machine to spit out a serviceable script.

The episode highlight is guest star Billy Campbell. He does a great job getting us to question whether he's trustworthy - something the script can't do on its own. He's also still looking mighty fine at 63 years of age.

  • Same old, same old

Yet another episode based around Jubal being too personally involved in a case because of his son. We already had this in season 5, episode 1. Season 5, episode 2 also featured teen criminals making one dumb decision after another. We don't even get a motive behind the villain's actions. It's just Jubal's son being morose and hiding information from his dad and Jubal still being allowed to be involved in the case despite his son continually popping up as having some sort of involvement with the main suspect. Why is nobody pointing out the huge conflict of interest here???

This is probably my least favourite episode out of the entire 5 seasons so far. It's not believable that a sole teenager can run rings around an entire FBI department. How many times is Jubal going to be a conflict of interest in a case because of his son?

    Let's get something new, please.

  • Jubal has a personal connection...AGAIN

I've lost count of the number of episodes this season where Jubal has some sort of personal connection to the case because of his tragic personal life, such as his son's illness and now Rina's death. How much tragedy can one character endure? There are five other main characters in this show - can we explore them a bit more?

This is not to take away from Jeremy Sisto, who is a terrific actor, or the character he plays, who I really do like. But it is getting very repetitive now. Every episode lately his boss seems to be asking, "Do you need some time?" because their latest case hits too close to home. Yes, he clearly needs some time because the writers are just hammering this character with too much trauma.
