  • Masterpiece and THE best movie of Vivek Agnihotri so far

This is one of its kind movie. It is a very emotional movie. Based on History events. It's actually kind of docu-drama. Bgm is top notch. Please watch it in best sound quality theatre you can find . Entire movie keeps you hooked. Scenes are very difficult to watch. All the riots scenes are very disturbing and discomforting. It tries to show you what happened during direct action day and what is happening in West Bengal today. Story is what you already know. It's execution is nothing less than brilliant. All the actors have done a great job. Especially, Pallavi Joshi. And I can safely say, about the characters of Jinnah, Sardar Huseni, Surhawardy, Gopal Patha Ji and Gandhi, I can safely say, it's very difficult that these characters can ever be better played, by anyone else. I mean such great movies are made very rarely, once in many years. I personally found it better than The Kashmir Files, as this movie passes more information. It has more and better characters. Kashmir Files was little less on information, and more on drama. But this one is just next level on all accounts. Salute to the makers of this movie for their dedication, hard work and making an excellent and exceptional movie.

  • Words are small, there are not enough words to praise this movie properly. Salute to makers.

One suggestion don't wait for OTT, watch it in theatres. Try for one with best sound quality, atmos or 7.1 or something like that. Background music is BAWAL. I read somewhere, that This movie was made in just 35 crores, yes you read it correctly, 35 crores, even I was shocked to know but the level of this movie is totally unmatched and extremely high as compared to any kind of movie that comes out of Bollywood. It's Thoroughly researched, wonderfully written and then brilliantly executed. Actually, I should apologise for calling it a movie. It is actually a docu-drama. All the actors of the movie be it lead roles or side characters, they all have done great acting. Especially, Pallavi Joshi, she was amazing. It is three hours twenty minutes long movie with no almost no song, no comedy it's only pain, suffering, horror and Most of all, THE TRUE HISTORY.

It's a movie that gives you discomfort but you will still want to watch it and would not want to leave your seat. It will keep you hooked. The movie aims to pass you just more and more information gathered through research. There is no masala to spice up the story. All frames are unique and true.

There are monologues 3-5 minutes long that are just spell binding. There are long scenes taken in one shot, that actually is one thing that you will watch multiple times even when this movie comes on ott.

At one point I was thinking, Just imagine you are not able to watch it on screen for three hours, there were people who endured it for several days. What actually shocks you is that the things shown in the movie, actually happened, in reality, to real human beings. Imagine what level of harm the ego, the greed and the lack of action by few people or say lack of preparation by the common people, their inability to identify and act against the threat, has caused to our great country. Imagine a society where large number of people didn't think of anything beyond their religion, and what it made them do. It's hard to believe that Calcutta was about to fall in the hands of Pakistan. It is hard to imagine INDIA without West Bengal today. In fact nobody in our school or colleges, no movie before this so far has taught us what actually caused the partition of India. Salute to the makers of this film for their courage and determination, that they created such a great film in such a low budget.

Technically there is only one drawback, now that we have seen so many hollywood movies, marvel dc etc. CGI of this movie is not that good. But it can be understood as it's a low budget movie. Other than that I was not able to find any flaws in the entire movie.

Finally, Words are very small and just, not enough to praise this work of art made, this masterpiece. This movie is already in the league of cult classics.

  • Strictly not for pregnant women, weak hearted or children below 16

Most of the time, I looked away from screen. I have seen horror movies several times but this one I must say, is the most disturbing movie I have seen in a long time, it may be possible because that this kind of horror I never saw in theatre before. But still.. it is still the most unique, disturbing and creepy movie, that I came across in a long time. After spending some 20-25 minutes IN SECOND HALF after interval, my stomach started feeling weird. Please in the name of god, don't take pregnant women, or any weak hearted, or any children below 16 or say even below 18 to see this movie. The movie is very creepy and disturbing. Story is just okayish, if you are into movies you might have seen such kind of similar stories earlier as well, I mean the basic storyline. But what stands out is eerie bgm and noises across all the scenes, direction of many or say almost all the horror scenes, and top of all THE ACTING of all the characters. FYI apart from horror, this movie also makes you emotional in the end.
