Well actually 2 stars (Nicholas cage), Leah Thompson and an unfortunately drifting from the limelight early 2000's tv heart throb (Chad Michael Murray). So I guess that counts as 3 'stars'.
These actors are top notch at what they do best... but this movie for 158 mins made me think otherwise...
Either way, the stars of this movie are better than what it offered them for their dialogue. Leah Thomson was severely under utilized, she has so much more to offer than just the boring devoted bible pushing mother. This movie seems like it had an underlying (maybe even outright obvious) agenda to push beliefs of god and the bible on the viewers. All disguised as a sci-fi/thriller movie. I gave this movie 3 stars because I wanted to see Nic Cage do what he does best, end the flick with a 'bang'...so I kept watching tilt end, and unfortunately this is clearly a movie that he only did because he 'had to'. No disrespect to Cage, it just wasn't a good movie.
The ending.. start..and middle are weak at best. Bad CGI (I'm not even one to care about that, but 90's CGI stands up better than this) stale acting, comedic facial expressions during dramatic scenes, and embarrassing writing all make for a complete pile of 'Left Behind'.

This documentary came up as a suggested watch on my tv service. I figured I would give it a go, something to entertain during a late night first day of the new year watch.
Boy, did I get into something so heart wrenching and sad before I even knew it.
I looked at the tv, without my focused view missing the screen for every last minute of this documentary. Except when I paused to get up and collect my thoughts.
This poor woman, her story, her potential, then it just unravelled in front of my eyes like a broken glass filled fruit by the foot. It kept giving, but not anything good...just the heartbreaking truth and more hurt and sadness. Sadness towards this woman, her son, daughter, and her real family. I could add even more, but I can't because the sadness is too real.
This is one of the _____ (I leave it blank for my heart can't even describe it) documentaries that I have ever watched. I say that with a heavy heart because it's also one of the worst I have ever watched.
Rest in peace to those who were lost in this heartbreaking story. I hope to never see anything as sad as this ever again.
