Obviously (like me), these are Americans that are having such a negative reaction to Rowan's particular style of comedy ( notice I did not put comedy in quotes, lol) (because obviously it's legitimate comedy, and that's the point) but it IS comedy and it's also a sweet holiday message - look, I take your point but real talk, just turn it off if your not enjoying it? Right?

Sure, as the above review stated, "merv (does) steal your heart" OF COURSE HE DOES he's adorable but, and this is a big but - an animal co-star should be just that, a co-star and NOT merely a prop. However in the case of Merv, the doggo is simply that and it's very awkward - I don't know if Zoey is a cat person or what but it's like she's never touched a dog before and watching her attempt to act off of him is borderline cringe. Charlie isn't much better - so ya it's cute and yes I'd say it's worth a watch but just know this isn't a dog movie as much as a movie with a dog - I know I KNOW but....

It's not that I'm not enjoying it, it's just that I've seen all of this schtick now twice all over since 2019 - first with the British version then with the verbatim first 2 seasons of the American version (both amazing shows btw) so it's like... Come on guys, at least thank the creators of 'ghosts' or something?! In addition I'm so very sick of Will Forte's goofy voice acting SOOO SICK I can't begin to tell you! Bleh right? It's so over the top and so, idk... purile - but alas I'll overlook that once again and power thru cause I like the rest (and ya ftr I had to quit the great north for that reason, and sure it's a personal presence but...)
