Even if he likes it!! It takes 3-4 times of listening here & there for him to even think about getting into it! Well, let me tell you... He watched EVERY SINGLE SECOND of this: beginning to end! In the beginning, honestly rolled my eyes thinking this is gonna be silly!! I could not have been more wrong!! I cried like a baby!! This is as far as I am going Bc I do not want to spoil it for anyone! Just watch it!! Also, watch. It with your kids (pre-teen/teens) AFTER you watch it on your own..well, actually, preferably with someone...then w/your kid(s)... Bc while we do not want them to be exposed to too much... NEWS FLASH: unfortunately, they already are (school) & this will scare the crap out of them!! It is so personal and touching! You start to feel for these people and what they go through! & If you are like me, you start caring about them to the point where you are yelling at the tv screen as if they are hearing you or it will change something!! JUST WATCH IT!! If you say "later" you will not get to it bc you probably will not expect it to grab your attention but it will & will tug at your heart strings!! Ughh!! Just watch it!! :)
One day, I was searching for a "horror" or "horror-like" movie ... having no luck finding many that caught my attention (aside from the hundreds I've already seen..lol) & came across this interesting movie. I swiped passed it many times & finally decided to give it a shot! It was fast paced, definitely straight to the point! Some parts can be seen as particularly brutal, violent, & some parts are even hard to watch! It is definitely not one of those... "Well, maybe the kids can watch it with me & I can fast-forward certain parts" type movies! LoL I would not recommend it, anyway, & I am not super strict with movies but dugs, sex, & sexual violence are no-no's for my kids. It is even pushing it for my oldest & she just turned 16..lol It's been a while since I've seen this, so I may be acting a bit melodramatic but if I remember correctly, it's a firm NO for the kiddos!
Anyway, it's not on my favorites list but I rated it high because I am trying to give a fair/objective review vs. Only my taste! I am definitely a horror/gore/action/scare the crap out of me movie lover! While this one is more of a thriller/drama/prove a point kinda movie. It has a good story, better than decent actors, NO humor, ALL very serious, very strong willed characters! It's different & definitely worth a shot!
