  • Pushes The Climate Change Myth

I've been following the UFO issue for many decades and have been well aware of Stephen Greer.

Initially his documentaries were very interesting. In fact they mostly still are as they know how to produce a good doc.

The problem I ask is "why does a random emergency room doctor know everything about the universe and life, and is called in to debrief US presidents and generals". It's kind of preposterous to say the least! It's like he's taken the Billie Meier cult nonsense and taken it to the next level.

He has collected a very impressive rogue gallery of "witnesses" that are borderline credible. I think that's the most impressive part of his "work".

But again, he's definitely got a messiah complex.

In this documentary he's jumped aboard the currently popular "Climate Change Crisis" myth. Right off the bat they cite climate change claims and predictions that have been proven false decades ago. He even pushes the "overpopulation" as a bad sign when in fact any species that is growing is a sign of thriving.

We know based on NOAA satellite data that snow coverage in the Northern Hemisphere has been increasing for the past 60 years (nobody mentions this).

We know that the earth's green spaces have increased massively - the size of the continental US - over the past 100 years. And NO this is not in snow covered areas, but rather in our deserts (Sahara has greened the most).

We know that the earth was warmer during the Medieval times and Roman Warm Period - and humans and crops thrived.

Polar Bear population has grown 500% over the past 60 years. Famine is at an all time low. Death due to climate related incidents (which mostly are from cold not heat) are at an all time low down 90% in the past century.

The "thousands of species are becoming extinct every hour" is also a debunked myth.

Most of these achievements have come from relatively abundant and affordable energy like coal. MORE people are dying from this energy being villainized and shutting down of things like coal plants making energy unaffordable.

And btw, if this so-called "free energy" that he talks about does exist, guess what? It will cause populations to rise even more, cities will grow substantially faster, and third world countries will come to be 2nd and 1st world countries even faster than they already are. What then? The catastrophists are going to call that "bad" and do everything they can to make that energy unavailable to control "overpopulation".

I guess he's got to sell views to make money from the grift and Climate Change Crisis is the current best way to get eyes on your cause.

Other than that, again, well made doc but mostly fiction imho.

  • Unique, very solid show!

I'm a big fan of shows that are a bit off the beaten track, usually shows that are serious with a bit of comedy on the side (like Barry).

I had NEVER heard of this show, ever and after watching it I'm shocked at how this was the case. This is one of the best kept secrets of the past 5 years imho.

Every season takes on a bit of a different main theme, but they are all very good. Season 3 is a bit dragged out compared to the first 2 but it's still extremely entertaining.

The casting is all very well done, and the acting is really good.

The thing I like about this show is that it is unique and it had me guessing all the way until the very last episode. This is SO rare these days as most shows are just remakes of others and are very predictable.

Even the ending is very satisfying and memorable (without giving any spoilers).

I'm shocked at the quality content HBO keeps putting out when other networks like Netflix put out 95% garbage and have maybe one or two big draws. And no wokeness at all in this show (maybe it's because this was a few years ago before it all hit the fan).

If you like shows like Walking Dead, you should love this one!

  • Season 1 AMAZING! Season 2 AWEFUL

I had held off for a long time watching this as I thought you had to like soccer to enjoy the show. Finally in 2023 I gave in and was pleasantly surprised!

Season 1 was fantastic and reminded me of the great "fish out of water" shows/movies from the 1980s and 1990s. Everything about this was exceptional with lots of humour, but also a deep dark side as well. There was tension throughout but Sedekis' character was always trying to see the bright side of things. Casting was also fantastic...

... but then Season 2 happened. What happened to be exact?

Season 2 is mostly bad to be blunt. It was like they fired all the writers, and hired some middle aged women who had never seen an episode but gave them cliffsnotes about the first season. This show became basically "Sex & The City 2022" and all the tension and character was sucked out of the show completely.

It was like everybody was given SSRI's and all the tension was lost. Ted became watered down and all the main/male (white) characters were relegated to secondary roles. The middle eastern trainer became a head coach. The captain of the team is relegated to a boy toy and the main "protagonist" is all but forgotten so that one of the black soccer players can become the best on the team (Apple's wokeness shining through)... though soccer itself takes a very backseat role to the stories about girl power and older women sleeping with younger men (meanwhile the older man sleeping with younger women is villified).

It became really hard to get through season 2 to be honest.

Season 1 for me was a solid 9/10.

Season 2 was at best 6/10.
