A critical element of any successful drama is the script and the script for this is superb. It's cleverly written with the appropriate touch of comedy to soften the intense drama. You can tell it has a Scandi feel about it.
It has a stunning ensemble cast with every character beautifully developed and acted. The casting was wonderful. I especially loved Alexej Manvelov as Akram. He was terrific in Top Dog and is great in this.
It keeps you engaged every moment and you genuinely care about what happens to the characters. I've been so disappointed about open endings chosen to end dramas these days but this ended beautifully. I couldn't find fault with this show and hope there will be another series. It's the best show I've seen on Netflix for a very long time.

In many ways this show is a waste of a great cast. The script feels like it was written by a group of people brain storming while eating lunch. The plot has more holes than a cheese grater. It has coincidence upon coincidence. The person responsible for the crimes is so loopy it's hard to believe he wouldn't have been caught by now. He seems to be able to appear and disappear more adeptly than the invisible man.
The only reason I'm persisting with it is the cast and I'm waiting to see what preposterous plot line they'll come up with next. Some of the actions of the main character are hard to forgive. He doesn't exactly endear himself to you.

I'm still bewildered as to how this movie is a favourite for the Academy Award for best movie. It has all been seen and done before. It offers nothing new or interesting and is completely uninteresting unless you like sex scenes. Mikey Madison has been nominated for best actress but it will likely go to Demi Moore. The Oscars are all about sentimentality. The best performance by an actress this year was by Saoirse Ronan in Outrun yet she's not even nominated.
Anora has few likeable characters and not much of a story. It's a movie to stream not to waste your money on.
The Brutalist is an infinitely better movie than this. If this wins best movie I give up. Apart from The Brutalist this has to be the worst bunch of films nominated in decades. This movie reminds me of going to the drive in movies years ago and suffering through the first movie before the feature came along. It's a B movie, nothing more.
