Well, if you want a fun unintentional parody, this is it.
The series picks up in some parallel reality after the events of the original Spartacus series. And, yes, it's hilariously funny.
From the characters, who are reasonably entertaining (in a comedic sense), to the hilarious dialogue and grotesque violence that's so over the top that it's actually funny.
Sure, there's nothing wrong with exaggeration when it makes sense, and it would have here, but in the context of everything else, it serves as an addition to this parody.
Sure, the writers didn't set out to make a parody, but in the end it turned out to be just that, a parody.
And, yes, with the usual "modern film industry" additions, this turns into a parody of today's film industry itself.
The original series had interesting characters, a solid plot, and supporting characters who were entertaining. Yes, it was over the top, but it had drama, the characters were actually well-developed and layered. It wasn't the best series ever, not even close, but it had something.
If nothing else, you can laugh, because this is comedy gold.

Another Netflix "historical" series.
Yes, like all Netflix "historical" series, this one is almost entirely fantasy.
The vocabulary is almost entirely modern, and the characters behave as if they are from the 21st century.
The soundtrack is mostly terrible, modern music that doesn't even belong in this pretentious fantasy.
Since this is a Netflix production, it is mandatory to distort history to focus the story on a certain narrative and insert some things that have already become so irritating that they have a counter-effect.
The costumes are good, as is the set design, and Jack Gleeson stands out with his acting. The rest is so typically Netflix.
Jack Gleeson, I must admit, is perhaps the best actor here, he is convincing and funny, it's a shame that the series is pretentious and looks more like a parody than a "historical" series.
Too bad, this could have been much better.

This is clearly an unintentional parody.
As for distorting history, we're used to it from Hollywood, but this is a new level.
The series states that Christianity came to England in 1066, which is an absolute lie, Christianity came to England in the 1st century, and became widely accepted in the 7th century. There have been Christians since the 1st century.
The dialogue itself shows hatred for Christians, which we're used to from Hollywood writers, producers and directors, and even some actors. You've created a complete counter-effect with such things. Even I notice it.
I don't understand why they lie when it's easy to find out the truth these days, but I guess Hollywood hates Christians so much that they can't help themselves.
I gave up after about twenty minutes of the first episode, I don't know what audience these shows are for, there's no point in even subscribing to these services. They're definitely not going to get my money back.
Why subscribe to a service that openly hates you. It's hilarious how this was actually expected, I'd actually be surprised if it was any different, considering the current state of Hollywood.
Too bad, this could have been interesting, but instead we got another piece of trash. A complete waste of time.
