I recently found the Shifting Gears show and was glad to see familiar faces, especially Tim Allen. Pretty good cast, from Daryl Mitchell, who was hilarious in Galaxy Quest (working alongside Tim Allen too), Sean William Scott, Jenna Elfman, and even both of the kid actors were good in the show-good chemistry with the kids and Tim Allen. But then we have Kat Dennings, whom I have never thought was a good actress, and in this TV program, it shows. She is awkward, she feels uncomfortable with how she stands, and does not have comedic timing at all. Tim Allen seems a bit robotic, but I think the cast brings out the worst or best in him, depending on his co-actors. I watched mostly because of him, and the interaction between him and the kids who played with his grandchildren. I think the set needs to be more realistic; it's like they never get their hands dirty. The show needs to feel more natural, it seems that not all of the cast connect. I am sorry, but it is four stars. If there is a second season, I hope someone else plays his TV daughter, and it would be awesome to see one of the Home Improvement actors who played his sons in the show. I mean, they brought the actress from another show he used to be in. As it is, I still think another actress to play the daughter would improve it.
I like watching British t.v. Shoes, although I am not particularly inclined to watch court dramas I was intrigued by The Brief. I had just finished watching Rompole from the Bailey for the third time :) and was feeling nostalgic. The cast for the t.v. Show the Brief are mostly familiar faces for me. To be honest I kept expecting Rompole to walk in the old Bailey and say something like " never pleade guilty darling" but this show was good on its own, and kept getting better and better with each episode. Alas! Only two series. What a shame, just when it was getting even better. For me a lovely surprise awaited. Julian Curry the same actor who played Eskine-Brown in Rompole, played a judge in their last episode! Funny, in Rompole that was his dream, to become a "silk" and sit on the bench as a judge. I guess the character's dream came true after all! 😁Recommended show. Right balance of drama and humour.
