I really enjoyed the story. It was all about how the power is suggestions can have physical impacts. Like a faith healer, if you believe something enough, your body can do amazing things. While everyone is freaking out about 'voodoo' and having physical attacks from seeing dolls or talking about rituals, Tony tells them it is just the power of persuasion. Paula even ends up in the hospital due to what they believe is an asthma attack. But Tony helps her past it when he gets her to believe it isn't.
The big problem with the episode is the camera work. I had to turn away multiple times as the camera was jerky, out of focus, and changing from black and white to some limited color. It made it a ver difficult episode to watch.

I'm confused by the whole Mei Lin side story. What are they trying to accomplish? When she first arrives, Lucien tells her that their daughter is alive and that he had just visited her in the last year. He also tells her that she now is a mother. So my question is, why has she not immediately heading to China to visit her and the grandchild? A normal parent would stop at nothing to to see their child if they had just found out about her.
It does show a different side of Dr Blake. He tries to be accommodating to everyone and this is a prime example of that. I think bringing his wife into the storyline is a good way to stall the romance with 2 of the lead characters.

So, 5 minutes in the police are inspecting the area where the boy died. They don't know initially if he was pushed or jump from the cliff above. Really? His body is at least 200 feet from the cliff. How could they even consider the possibility that he was up there. If the writers and director can miss something like this in such an obvious way, it doesn't bode well for the future.
Other than that, the series is off to a good start. A great story line with some fine acting. It makes me wonder why it was cancelled so early on. Was it poor ratings? It certainly had enough top notch actors to get attention. I guess I'll see how it goes.
