I'm just watching this on Prime. I watched it when it first came out and I'm only watching It too see if my memory of it is as bad as I remember.
Fienns isn't that bad as Steed but he is no Patrick Magee. Thurman should never have been given the part when there are numerous actresses who could have done the role of Emma Peel justice. They've tried to redo Starsky and Hutch (failed), They tried to do ISpy (failed}, They tried to do a remake of the Munsters (failed miserably) They did a movie of The Wild Wild West (mediocre). When will the learn that if the script is no good and they don't cast the right actors they will fail again and again.
PS. Personally I think Connery must have been short of cash to have ever considered making this piece of rubbish.

I usually like Sally but this I just can't take too. She's must OK in the lead role but Steve Edge is like a wet lettuce as her supposed partner. Personally I think she wrote this so she can have a free holiday in the sun at the expense of channel 5
The back up crew are playing by Sue Holderness and Robin Askwith as the comedy posh Idiots with more money than brain cells who seem to always be involve in each murder case. (Why doesn't Sally kill them off in the next series "PLEASE PLEASE").
Not exactly a good advertisement for France or the French police force as there's a murder every week and the English antiques dealer is the only person who can solve the case and with little involvement from the local cops.
GIVE IT A MISS.
