Ewan McGregor is great, but he can't polish a turd.
It seems there's too much pressure to release new content for Disney's new streaming service. The result is quantity over quality, and nearly all the content has been mediocre to terrible.
McGregor is the reason Obi-Wan is simply not terrible and is worth an extra star.
All these series feel like they should be on the SyFy channel and not a major AAA studio release given how terrible the acting, writing, and direction have been.
I don't know. Maybe it's the way everything is shot. Either way, it's honestly quite remarkable how bad everything looks given the budget, modern advances in CGI, etc.
It's truly amazing that shows with much smaller budgets manage to create immersive worlds for their characters, but this show with nearly every built-in advantage basically feels like people walking around in cosplays reciting lines (bad lines at that).

If you're tired of Netflix shows where you end up hating everyone, I'd encourage you to give this show a try.
Very heartwarming and endearing characters with just the right amount of humor.
So far, each episode has ended with a smile on my face and feeling better for having watched it.

Ranks up there with Westworld's Kiksuya as one of the great examples of story telling on the "small screen" for me.
Succeeds in creating a similar "magical realism" as well. The culmination of so many great parts that somehow came together to produce something even greater.
The music/score was also absolutely perfect.
The moment we see the flashbacks the mood created by the score is nothing short of magical as you find yourself in awe as you realize the amount of creativity, genius, and artistry that went into the conception of this story from day 1, how the small and seemingly minor details from season 1 were meaningful parts of a grand vision, and how the story has come full circle to the very first episode fittingly titled "To You, in 2000 Years."
