blackmark-16387's rating
I like dark and gritty adaptations. What pushed me to turn off Titans was that as the show progressed I found myself fast forwarding through more and more until there was no point in looking for a reason to care about the plot. The plot doesn't involve political machinations or the strategies of forces of good and evil, it isn't mystery or suspense or adventure : the sole driver of the plot is adolescent drama. Flashback episodes pretend to offer character background but in reality are irrelevant to the story and are just there to bloat the show with more drama. As if drama needs more drama for context.
I strongly suspect that the 1 star ratings dragging this show down have something of an axe to grind. I had never heard of Russell Peters before, so I neither had any bias against nor expectations of the show. I found the first season to be entertaining and engaging. A light-hearted cop show, well written and well paced. If this rates 1 star there are an awful lot of shows out there that deserve black holes.
