First of all, I love how we're watching this documentary for the first time at the same time as the characters. We get to see their reactions, too. It's nice to have something a little more light-hearted in this show that is unapologetically dark. But it still has that very raw feel to it.
One of my absolute favorite things about this episode were the little blurbs about how you don't have to say anything when you're arrested. You really shouldn't. You can invoke your 5th amendment rights. It doesn't matter whether you're guilty or innocent. Also, the one about taking advantage of your right to an attorney. It's the best thing I've ever seen on a cop show. One of my favorite episodes of the show.

This is officially one of my favorite series finales I've ever watched. It's clear cut, simple, heartfelt, yet not sappy. It was everything that it needed to be.
I felt that the show just ended so perfectly with Jack retiring and passing the company to Maya. It may seem obvious, but to me, it was just inevitable. If the show ended any other way, I would scratch my head. There aren't any crazy twists, and I found that satisfying.
Just Shoot Me's finale proves that a series finale doesn't need to be complicated. It can have a straightforward and simple concept without any convoluted twists and turns. It just allowed us to say goodbye to the characters in such a beautiful way.

I was looking forward to this show, but I was so disappointed with the first episode. For some reason, no one can write a part for an intelligent female lead that doesn't have an obnoxious or totally unappealing personality unless it's for a well-known star or she carries a gun. I have no issue with her occupation. Many intelligent people end up working in what you might call dead-end jobs. This one has to go around stating her IQ, dressing suggestively because she's conventionally attractive, and embarrassing her kids at the grocery store by putting on a show. I wish more intelligent women were written like Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote, who used her pushiness as an asset. IQ isn't all that makes a person truly smart. EQ (emotional intelligence) is important, as well. That was the lesson in Good Will Hunting. Some people really need to see that film again, then learn how to write better characters.
