Yes, this movie surprised me but in all ways that were good. As others have said, the acting, casting and plot were all very good. Some little twists also as it transpires towards the inevitable end... not knowing anything about it to start with, I was delighted to find myself being sucked in and staying the pace. I really liked the portrayal of CJD... Michael Keaton did such a fine job of conveying its gradual but implacable grip on his ebbing mental capability. And the supporting characters all held their own, each of them a realistic depiction while revolving around Keaton's central role. Yes, I loved this movie and recommend it highly for anyone looking for something a little different. Enjoy!

Had no idea what I was about to encounter when I started this but thought the premise to be promising along with Jeff Daniels... hey, worth a look, right? And as it turned out, I wasn't disappointed. Except, maybe just a little, with the ending... it left me bemused, however, more than really disappointed. Not having read the book nor having checked the number of episodes, I thought it could have gone a good bit longer. I must say, I enjoyed the characters, the acting, the plot, the dialogue and the production. Hey, it's not perfect... some 'moments' weren't fully authentic but ONE moment was truly surprising for me - something I thought wasn't allowed on TV! To conclude, I'd highly recommend this mini/series if you're seeking a nice, worthy and entertaining piece of distraction... you'll make your own sense of the 'satirical' aspects. For what I was looking for, it delivered. I enjoyed it. Definitely 'worth a look'!

I know your perception and enjoyment of a movie can be strongly influenced by your energy and interest levels before you start, but I gotta say... notwithstanding the highly critical, technical critiques that precede this review... I loved this movie! Very well made, engrossing... you know that a crash is coming somewhere but by golly, I really enjoyed it. Acting tip top. Plot maybe somewhat predictable but still absorbing enough to keep you interested. Very nicely shot and edited. Loved Jonah Hill and the other chap... and the delicious wife - they all made it happen. Yes I know it's not a meaningful commentary on the Arms Industry etc but look... it's still highly entertaining, overall. Enjoy!
