1. It's the list of movies which metascore is way higher than their rating, 2. The movies are ranked based on a simple math: the difference btw their IMDb rating (the audience vote) and metascore (the critics vote), 3. How to subtract: A 7.5 rating is the equivalent of a 75 metascore, 4. It includes the Top 250 movies of the year (criteria: number of votes), 5. If I saw the movie in question, I'll chime in by saying which side I'm leaning towards, with no somewhere-in-between cop outs. Just own it.

Since a rating is not set in stone, there are no winners, just leaders (I'll try to keep the list up-to-date as much as I can). Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, here's our 2021 WTF Metascore Movies Top 20 List! (just a killer year, had to do twenty)

P.S.: I decided not to include MIGNONNES (35!) in the list, because its grade has been manipulated by a good old American witch-hunt.

Some interesting stuff with an IMDb rating under 6. Average Joe didn't like these movies. This Joe did. The list is films from 1980 on. As you will see, my lack of objectivity peaked in 1995.

P.S.: Some classics, like ''Motel Hell'' (1980) and ''Universal Soldier'' (1992) are at 6.0 right now. Let's hope they do not make this list.

2000's: Watched Non-English Language Horror Movies

Jean Reno and Vincent Cassel in The Crimson Rivers (2000)

''Dead Silence'', with its measly metascore of 34, is as good of a horror movie as at least half of those with the number that's twice as big. And this is supposed to be Wan's weakest entry.

The rankings are based on the difference between the movie's budget and how much did the movie earn. (Note: "Dead Silence" and "Death Sentence" lost money, and "Malignant" is in cinemas (Sept 2021).)
