The lead actors are real-life Karate masters - Tatsuya Naka (7th Dan JKA Shotokan karate, Akihito Yagi (7th Dan Meibukan Goju-ru Karate), and Yuji Suzuki (1st Dan Kyokushin karate) and action consists of authentic karate techniques.
The acting and plot are engaging on their own - but if you're done some karate in your life, it's even more satisfying.

I loved this small but brilliant gem of a movie and especially enjoyed the story of Elise and Reeves.
It's a romantic slice-of-life film so relatable I could watch it over and over again.
The script was brilliant and rings true, and the actors all seemed natural in their role, which I ascribe to an effective director.

I assume producer/star Margot Robbie paid herself her usual A-list salary then went ahead and hired the cheapest director, writer, stunt team and co-stars (except Ewan McGregor) she could find. The result is this undeniable mess.
The special effects (hyena, explosions) are OK though.
Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain? Come on, that role deserves a better-looking and better-acting performer at the caliber of Mulan's Yifei Liu.
