This was a movie I started watching one evening and had no idea what it was about when it began. The movie starts with a newspaper journalist being asked by his childhood rabbi to do him a favor...to write his eulogy at the time of his death. I was drawn into it immediately. And with good reason. This is a wonderful (true) story about faith, our place in the world, and what we can do to make a difference in the lives of others. It's about treating others with kindness, respect, and compassion. It's about not judging a person by their past deeds but rather by their present ones. It's about second chances...and third and fourth chances if needed. It's about having faith in God and in turn allowing God to show you how to have faith in mankind and the goodness that comes when we give of ourselves to others. It is a story of hope and love, faith and forgiveness. Very moving, heartfelt, and inspiring. A beautiful movie.
