I guess I'm the only one who thought that the acting was terrible apart from the two main actors. After watching the live action of Word of honor it was quiet easy to see the differences in quality (acting & costumes/props, and the grandmaster of Demonic cultivation - live action renamed as The Untamed - I felt could've done much much better. I didn't appreciate the changes from the original story either, altering nearly most of the main plots. Eg: WWU's ability to freeze someone on the spot (1st episode). I get that they can't add all the information in the book. The donghua/anime is much recommended and if anyone wanting to know the actual story, read the novel Mo Dua Zu Shi. There are some good English translations on the web.
Loved this anime! It almost had me in tears, that's how moving I felt the storyline was. I'm not in to LGBT romance in anime. Felt like this opened a whole beer anime genre that I haven't explored yet. I would highly recommend this to any one who enjoy a light realistic romance story. Hope there'll be a season 2.
This is a great anime with lots of action & comedic scenes between characters. The story as well written with an easy plot that make it's enjoyable and easy to understand specially the different deities and their powers/quirks. The story revolves around the 13 Buddha's living in the digital age with us under a disguise. Lord Shaka (Lord Siddhartha) is a taiyaki loving Buddha who is head of the household and the worst cook lol. He summons Taishakuten (Shukra) & Boten (Brahma) from heaven to help defeat earthly vices created by Mara who's aim is to stop Shaka from attaining enlightenment. As a Buddhist I found this take on our much loved & respected characters an exceptionally good one specially humanising them in a positive way making it much easier to relate to. It's full of funny moments with the story all boiling down the brotherhood, friendship, teamwork & some teachings in the Dharma as the series unfolded. I felt like this Anime was soo underrated, it didn't get the exposure and fame it deserved. Wish this was on more platforms like Cruncyroll Netflix etc. Hope they will reconsider and release a season 2. BudFFs Forever!
