The first and one of the most quintessential Father Ted episodes. We are introduced to Fathers Ted, Dougal, and Jack, as well as Mrs. Doyle and her obsession with tea, and the rest of the eccentrics of Craggy Island. Father Ted becomes seduced by the possibility of being interviewed on television as he secretly yearns to be an international celebrity out dancing with girls. Meanwhile, a fair of... sorts has come to Craggy Island; indeed, it is the very sort of fair you would only find on Craggy Island and Father Dougal is all too keen to go and see the infamous spider baby. It's also time for Father Jack's walk which always includes a great deal for mayhem.
That's basically what you have here: Moaning Myrtle as a belligerent human detective- temporarily in charge in Honoré- and it's fairly annoying. She's just mean and offensive in every way. Whoever allowed her to be a police officer, let alone a DS? I know the actress is good at playing her role, but the character is just so grating and annoying that it does not make for the most enjoyable episode. Anyway, Richard is pretty hilarious while hallucinating due contracting tropical fever. His scenes with Catherine are always entertaining. Camille is greatly missed in this episode, but kudos to Dwayne and Fidel for picking up the slack.
