Dale Dye was in the cast, he could have taught the others. Secondly, there may have been a costuming problem. When Jackie Robinson went home on a two-week leave, it appears that his cap bore the gold bar of a second lieutenant, but the bar on his shoulder was the silver of a first lieutenant. Come on, man....
