  • Perfect.

Sign 'O' the Times is, objectively, the greatest cinematographically captured live performances of our era. It is the purest depiction of the brilliance that was Prince. This concert/film is not just a tour de force from the Artist Known As Prince, but it is the greatest example of his love for his craft, and his appreciation for his fellow musicians. This film will not only earn Prince's naysayers respect; it will earn their fandom. I wept when Prince died: and re-watching this film so many years later reminded why I did.

  • The Michael Bay of Anime

Okay. Let me get this off my chest: I LIKE this anime. I LIKE it. It's likable; much in the way owning a Jaguar must be. It's fun, exhilarating at times, and takes your breath away at it's best moments. . . . . . the problem, however, is that the REST of the time, it's stalled-out because of poor design. The action sequences (visually STUNNING action sequences, mind you) are followed by filler episodes with the depth of a recently popped blackhead and the complexity of a political debate between Snooki and name-any-Kardashian. So, much like any Michael Bay movie, the scenes between the action are ill-written, poorly acted, and shoddily drawn. I WANT to love this anime, because the good parts are SO DAMN GOOD (the music, and aforementioned action sequences, the humor, etc.); but the rest of it (which sadly makes up the overwhelming majority of this anime) is so lack-luster that I simply can't.

  • The future! Where people in space do the stupidest possibe thing at the stupidest possibe moment!! Every single time!!!

Just dub over this movie with the script of any "3 Stooges" episode, and it'll be infinitely more enjoyable. And hey! At least then, when this motley crew of imbecils procede to fumble and flail across space, making the DUMBEST POSSIBLE DECISIONS IMAGINABLE, it'll just make you laugh! (As opposed to making you want to tear out your own goddamn finger nails to distract your brain from the abuse your eyes are suffering by watching this hamfisted, pretentious, Jar Jar Binks-quality cgi snuff film.)
