London scenery at Christmas. How can that be bad. Yes the plot and characters are predictable. But enjoyable with some twists. The family exchanges are mostly respectfully done. Except for the evil new half brother. But even that has its redemption. No plot reveals here. Older kids this time around in a good way.
It's an easy watch. Family or just a nice distraction. Michael Caine is a treasure no matter what he's is in. The Rock continues to surprise me. One plot was whether the young ladies shorts were going to stay up past her pelvic bones. And Mr Guzman he's a treat too no matter what he's in. Interesting tie in to Verne, Swift and Stevenson books.
Not enjoyable with the teen alcoholic. The scenery is so beautiful. The sheriff is enjoyable to watch. A different female lead would be greatly appreciated. Cassandra is arrogant and whiney. Would love to see the sheriff with someone more pleasant. Yes he's supposed to be a "little" dark. Mystery artist mother and all. But still.
