GovJerryBrown's rating
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has the unique distinction of being somehow enjoyable and copaganda at the same time. Cast is top tier, writing is consistently coherent, and it doesn't revolve entirely around the characters' egos. And it's not super preachy unlike roughly every single other cop show on TV, which is a plus.
Truth told, this show is so dumb you'll struggle to get through the first episode. But when most other shows on TV seem bent on writing each episode with the express intention of making people feel like fresh squeezed crap, Ghosted is a breath of fresh air. It's lighthearted, and goofy, and the two leads are good together, and by all the stars in heaven they actually manage to make jokes that don't rely on igniting people's anger/bitterness/prejudices to land. And they succeed, is the thing. Once you quiet a good 90% of your inner hyper-critical pop culture nerd, you will probably find yourself laughing out loud at some of the episodes.
TLDR: it's dumb but a great palate cleanser for when you're sick of watching things that make you kind of feel like the world is about to end.
