Having an interest in true crime stories, I really wanted to like this show. It got worse with each episode. The writer, Rebecca, is one of the most annoying characters I have ever seen on screen and contributes nothing of value. It is difficult to understand why a 30 something woman ingratiates herself with a gang of murderous teens. The victim, Reena, remains one dimensional and appears almost as unlikeable as the awful kids she's so desperate to befriend. I am not familiar with the case but reading some of the comments, it seems this show is not doing her justice and Reena and her family would have deserved better than this very mediocre production.
After the first episode my interest faltered but I thought I'd give it another try. However, after episide two, this straggle of annoying, dysfunctional characters, none of whom is even remotely likeable or relatable, makes this too painful to continue watching. I find the acting clumsy and the flashbacks are too short to provide insights into the history of family relationships. It may well be that there are lots of families like this, burdened by feuds, animosity and lack of genuine affection. But in this show, watching them deal with the issue of a missing family member is, I just can't make myself care about any of them. They all seem too self centred and fake to elicit sympathy or even interest.
