As others have said it's really hard to fathom who the target audience is for this, kids, teens or adults, it changes every episode, sometimes even within episodes.
It's set around a father his 9 year old daughter, he a washed out journalist and she a budding one. There's a distinct role reversal here though as the kid definitely plays the parental role and the father the child! In fact the father is so insanely annoying that even the word loser doesn't sum him up, he really is the most useless and pathetic tool you could ever hope to meet! I'm not sure what they were trying to model him as but the tool part they hit bang on! The hero of the story (the 9 year old I guess) is trying to fathom out what happened to a kid some 20 plus years before, something her father witnessed and for which someone else was wrongly imprisoned. I'm up to episode 7 now but it feels like 57 because it just drags so much! There's countless chunks of filler coming from all corners of the story, most of it adding absolutely nothing, especially when it involves Hilde's intolerable older sister and her "let's connect" moments with her mum, the boyfriend tangent adds squat. The acting is pretty second rate, and the script is even worse, indeed it's really hard to GAF about any of them. About the only decent character that's fairly likeable is the black female cop but even there there's so many moments where you just have to think WTF, seriously? It's a real hard slog and I've seen that there's a season 2 so it clearly doesn't eggs and get a result at the end of season 1. On that basis I think I'm out because I just can't be bothered. A 4-5/10 at best.

I watched this because it had got some good reviews but I really struggled to get through it. I'm not the greatest fan of police / crime procedural stuff but some shows like The Wire and Call of Duty I find watchable because they have really interesting stories and keep the procedural stuff to a minimum, mainly as scene setting. They provide good entertainment.
This series though I struggle to see what the point of it was. It focuses on the procedural part so much that if you took it out there'd only be about an hour left! Episode 1 takes a full 50 minutes of pure procedure before ANYTHING at all happens. Ep 2 was moderately more interesting for about 30 minutes and Ep 3 was just dismal and consisted entirely of a psychologist sat in a room with a kid. It wasn't interesting and it certainly wasn't entertaining. So for a 4 hour mini series, virtually 2 hours and 40 minutes of nothing. I've only got one more episode to endure but in all honesty I doubt I'll bother. I'm not convinced it won't be just as dull and I'm past caring even if it isn't. Worst series I've seen this year by far.

They obviously decided that to milk this franchise even further they just need to throw an ever increasing amount of CGI monsters at it. This Kong / Godzilla / Planet of the Apes mish mash sets a new low bar for these movies, not hard given how low the bar had sunk in the first place. Purple-zilla seems no more powerful than white-zilla, despite consuming the entire planet's nuclear energy so it's down to JCB Kong to save the day aided by his very own, albeit orange, mini-me and a dismal cast cast of actors muddling their way through an even more desperate script. This will definitely be the last of these movies I choose to endure, I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it! Might be ok if you're a mega Kong or Zilla head, or if you maybe need a 3 year fix of CGI all in one go, otherwise, hard pass!
