I've been gong through a tough time lately with the passing of my beloved pooch. I woke up feeling so bummed then I saw this movie in my recommended list. I gave it a shot. Wow this is just the medicine I needed. So good for the serious moments as well as the humor. I'm glad this movie has over a seven rating in IMDB. Certainly worthy of it.
Without TOS Next Gen never happens. The die hard fans of TOS made this series possible and it wasn't in the first few yrs. Next Gen dragged in the first couple of yrs. I mean it really stunk up the place. It sure didn't hit the ground running like TOS did. We had fair acting but scripts that left little to desire. But many of us loyalists hung in there. We gave it a chance. By season three it started to recover. I ended up being a big fan of the series but it sure required patience.
Who were the best characters to follow in Next Gen...Not really sure. Data was interesting but not even close to a Mr. Spock. They didn't even have a real engineer in those early next gen seasons. No Mr. Scott....disgraceful. There was no comradorie like we saw between the big three in TOS. But we hung in there.

I know this is a bold statement but if you've been thinking about your life lately & the struggles you've encountered you may want to compare yourself to this man He's been up against it for decades yet finds the will to continue. We go through different stages in life but this becomes his final scene. He knows life is coming to an end but he needs to go out on his OWN terms. I feel his powerful message here. I'm entering this same place in life with issues I need to resolve. This man only lives to keep his dog & himself alive with what little he finds in the wilderness. I found myself cheering for him hoping he finds meat & some sort of peace to his pains in life.
