I keep coming back to this Anime. Those who say it's superficial, don't understand the deeper meaning behind it. This is the story of our lives, the story of humanity, how the few sacrifice for the many, despite having so much to loose as well. In the end, Life is a cycle of sacrifices. It's a harsh world we live in. Same as in this Anime, the correlations are plain to see, even the theme song, Scarborough Fair being player both at the beginning and at the end, are a message, The song is for me the essence of the series, there is potential for Humanity but it rests upon near impossible tasks, and insurmountable losses of the few for the many, like it always has been for our people back to the beginning. Parsley is bitter, sage is wisdom, rosemary is a "relic" of the past, and thyme representes courage. And so we move forward. With Biter Sacrifices, often made in the name of love, with wisdom and courage, and the many lessons learned from our history. Watch it and you'll understand,
It's a good Anime, a solid watch,i'm usually very picky when it comes to animes. If your looking for magic and adventure this one has plenty. But In my opinion, these types of anime always have a deeper message, inbuded on them. And in the case of this one in particular for me it transmitted that family and home is whatever and whomever you choose And that people are defined by their actions, but also by how they atone, and redeem themselfs from mistakes. It also transmits the idea that no matter how you may think we are different from one another, color, race, gender, nationallity. We all share the same gensis, and we all value the same things. It shows the dangers of labelling and demonizing a specific group without knowing the full story, and it depicts modern conflits which are based on old feuds, passed on from one generation tio another, only to miss the bigger picture that those conflits benefit the ones that stand to gain from making people believe we are different. Watch it, you won't regret it. Hoping for a second season soon.
I'm on sick leave due to depression, and this anime made me laugh so freaking much, and i admit maybe a tear or two here and there. I think it did more then all my meds combined, it legit cured my depression. It also has it's serious moments which are very enjoyable. Plus I'm so surprised at myself too, i usually only enjoy anime that are serious and packed with action. And for me to enjoy this one so much, will def make me try and watch other genre of anime I've been avoiding. Truly amazing. Give it a watch at least till ep 4 of the 1s season, for me that's when the actual anime connected somehow.
