The art is stunning in this donghua, and I adore the solid mix of action, romance, fantasy, and mystery. It can be minorly confusing at some points as you start to get into it, but I think it does an overall good job of explaining the characters, expanding their backgrounds, and building relationships all while furthering the plot.
Hua Cheng is all powerful in the most modest way possible. He's the type of character that has ALL the power and skill, but casually brushes it off and keeps moving with his absolute mess of a love interest, Xie Lian, a god who has been demoted all the way to the bottom ranks to collect scraps. For me, the main point of confusion is whether Xie Lian knows who Hua Cheng is for the first part of their story. He's obviously suspicious, but he seems somewhat oblivious as well. Then I get confused about whether he is keeping his own identity a secret because over time, that also becomes lax to the point of obvious.
Other than those minor details, this is an awesome show. I can't wait to see more after those wonderful action scenes, touching deaths, incredible introductions, past revelations, and budding relationships. I particularly like the adventure format that takes our characters to different areas with other tasks all while furthering their main plot and deepening ties. Watch this.

I honestly really like this show much like what I watch on HGTV of Food Network, but I would appreciate a recap of designs when they tell people who is safe and who isn't. I want flashbacks of the elements they are talking about. Sometimes it is hard to recall what design is being talked about. I feel like I miss a lot from that. I would also love some sort of time stamp for time updates on design challenges, or more of the designers creating their boards. The audience misses a lot of information in this show. I don't see them actually create and they don't get a moment to rework designs when an extra element is paired. I would also love a tracker of how much money is going out. I want to see their budget and how they work it. The small elements like this really help me to invest in the show. It ups the anti. I also think there needs to be more emphasis on a lead designer if there is one. Some decisions are never discussed, and the contestant who had no say does not deserve to go down with that sinking ship. It makes no sense except as a lottery system, which is not a good look.
