Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman were excellent as always and both are always able to lead a movie. The cast was wonderful, and a shout out to Josh Brener as he is great to see again- he should be more out front as well.
There is the obvious Die Hard 2 referencing here and not a complex storyline. Action, intrigue and positive energy as things spin out with terror at LAX! I understand the low scores given things, but if you kick back and suspend some disbelief there is a good movie. And good in the sense that I felt I wanted to see Taron Egerton's character in a sequel- and I am not a fan of such. But as with Die Hard and Bruce Willis, there is something further for Taron Egerton and his character. And let's see more peppermint Ho Ho's!

The movie has a fun take on the holiday season with a welcome return of Jack Black. Thank you! Is this movie written by Charles Dickens? No, but I laughed and enjoyed watching the whole movie (through the last credits, as some extra scenes).
I thought the actors were all quite good and I must not have a degree in film production as other reviewers were more critical. I was entertained and given the slog of seasonal films, that says a lot.
I will say the scene near the end involving Hell was less entertaining, but the cameo was appreciated.
Again, thank you to Mr Black- he can elevate a movie with his craft! This dark comedy was lighthearted and with a heartfelt ending.

I enjoyed the time spent with the movie, and I appreciated that the story and actors brought some of their life to my life. It made me laugh and me tear up. To give me that breadth of emotions in a movie, a book, or a story is something I feel is worthy. Good. And, as well, giving me something of them in the story. From the dinner scene moving forward both leads gave me a sense of their lives, in this story within a story of being a movie star in Hollywood.
I am not sure why there are such low reviews, and I truly don't like much movies these days. What I like is a story well told, characters (actors here) that carry the story, real life aspects (organic- sorry, but the word works), and being entertained. This movie, the story, Mr Efron, Ms. Kidman, Ms. King, and Ms. Bates provided that in all honesty.
