This original series portrays life on the frontier as presented by 3 modern families thrust back into the 1890's! The families are inclusive representing Caucasian, African American, and Same-Sex couples, their children, and some of their relatives. The kids are amazing as are their parents as they face the challenges of giving up the luxuries of 21st century and live on the farms of the late 1800s. The challenges they face include basics like feeding themselves in frontier times and getting along with each other. Milking a cow is easier said than done! I am engaged and impressed with the bold vision of Chip and Joanna Gaines and with the stories of the 3 families in the series. Their stories bring us all face to face with how many of our ancestors lived- and it wasn't easy. They begin in their own glitzy homes and move to cabins where they milk cows and plow the land to raise crops. It's also bold in being an inclusive story. I'm looking forward to seeing more! Hats off to Chip and Joanna Gaines for bringing it to us and to the 3 families who bring this story to life!
A suspenseful and passionate portrayal of two lovers at their Italian villa with a swimming pool, a key feature of the heated action. A past flame enters the couple's life along with his eighteen-year-old daughter. The tension is palpable and flairs as jealousy permeates the air. Murder is on the menu at the swimming pool as the story comes to its climax. Will love find a way to save a lost soul, or will he drift into darkness and move on to other places without her? Will she tell the police what he did, or will she protect him? Does she really even know him? A story well told and superbly acted! Bravo!!
Queer as Folk was a stellar series, focusing on cutting edge topics with engaging characters and storylines. Unfortunately it falls prey to so many other series, not providing an ending that is satisfying to so many who watched the series faithfully. The story was about Brian and Justin. Everyone else is coupled up and happy at the end. The writers chose to separate Brian and Justin. Left me totally unhappy. Not at all clear why the writers made that decision. About the only thing that could have been worse was to kill them in the explosion at Babylon. Bit then at least that way they would have been together. 10 thumbs down to the writers. 10 thumbs up to the cast!
