I never watched the show as a kid so when I watched the movie, I knew nothing but that Jimmy is a genius so this movie was a fresh take on the show for me. Obviously just like the show, the CGI didn't age well but I found the characters kinda alright and the voice acting was pretty good. The jokes were ok and the story was good. I thought the sence where they used the rides to go to space was amazing. I give it a 7 because the CGI isn't the prettiest to look at and often the characters are unenjoyable but for a show that I knew nothing about, the movie was passable and is easily one of the better movies to come out of Nick
Who wanted a sequel to an average 3 movie series? When the movie came out, the book was out for to long for it to be relevant for kids to care about. The humor was bottom of the barrel and every character but the child was either unlikable or lacked any personality past 1. Greg was insanely self-absorbed, Rodrick was stupid, the mom and dad were as unique as plain oatmeal, and the baby couldn't have a personality trait because it is a baby. There was no reason for this movie to exist since Dog Days left on a good note for a book made for 12 year olds. If you watch it, watch it when it's free to watch because acting that bad doesn't deserve your 20 dollars that could go to a good movie.
