A list of my favourite chinese movies. As you can immediatly see, there are a lot of movies from Zhang Yimou on this list, he is basically the main reason I watched the amount of Chinese movies that I have. Although I have found some really interesting Chinese movies not made by him (like Kekexili or Farewell my Concubine) Yimou is in my opinion still the epitome of Chinese cinema. But I still havent seen that many chinese movies so far, so I might have missed some masterpieces.

A list of my favourite anime movies The list is not in perfect order. It been a while since a really good one came out. I do not watch anime movies explicitly nowadays, only the ones that get somewhat famous and I hear about them. 

The list includes every movie (and documentory) of 2019 which i gave a rating above 6/10.  I watched a few more movies than last year, including every major movie from the oscars, but like every year there are countless foreign movies which I probably have missed and I make sure to catch up with them as soon as possible. I am especially interested in Japanese, Chinese and Russian movies and so far I only have seen a few Chinese films and no Japanese and Russian ones from 2019 (mainly because they are hard to come by). So i will keep updating this list as it goes on. 

Overall I would say that the year was pretty decent, even though I was very dissapointed with a lot of major releases.(especially from the oscars). Maybe better than last year but i am not sure.

I would also say that this year basically only has 5 very good movies: "the lighthouse", "joker","so long, my son", "One child nation" and "Midsommar".  2 nice movies: "klaus" and "the farewell".  a bunch of ok-films (the rest of the list). And like every year: a bunch of medioucre and bad films (everything that didnt make it onto this list).

2017 has been quite a good year, with 13 titles rated above 7 (compared to 6 titles in 2016, 10 in 2015 and 8 in 2014) and it also had some 9s in there as well. There still quite a few movies for me to watch so it might even get better.

In general I would say that the year had 1 excellent film: "Loving Vincent" 4 very good films: The thid murder, Side job,Dunkirk, Breadwinner 8 nice films (the rest on this list) and like every year a bunch of medioucre and bad films (everything that didnt make it onto this list)

I still need to see many more movies. So I will add (and delete) movies as it goes, but here is a list of my favourite movies of 2018. Haven't seen that many good movies of 2018 so far, you can see that I need to add movies i gave a 5/10 to make the list at least 10 entries long.

So far only really "Burning" and "Shoplifters" and "Murer" are good movies that I would recommend, maybe "Into the Spider verse" as well, if you are more into action movies.

a list of my favourite anime. If you have never seen an anime and think they are just for teenager then a few of the titles on this list might be for you. This list mainly contains the more majure and deeper things anime has to offer.  Now I know that anime mainly is aimed at teenagers and children, thats kinda why I have stopped watching new shows, I would say I grew out of it. But there are a few titles which are really worth it.
