This movie was a great thriller with horror elements. The premise along is very interesting and is put to the screen beautifully. The entire cast is great with Lupita Nyong'o being the standout. The comedic moments that Peele sprinkles into his movies are amazing and hit every time. The more intense moments work as well as Peele finds a way to make the audience care for the characters and what will happen next. My biggest complaint with this movie is the fact that Peele gives the audience too many answers towards the end. It would have been better if he left more concepts ambiguous which would make us go home and think. Overall, I would recommend this movie as it is a great movie on the level of Get Out.

I was excited to watch this movie since the first trailer dropped last year and with each trailer after that it just pumped me up more. Having watched the movie now, I agree with most people that this is not just a great DCEU movie, but a great movie in general. This movie brought me back to my childhood as this movie reminded me of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies. Shazam! had a ton pf heart, jokes and great characters. The entire cast did great things with the script as the characters felt real and everybody acted their age. The idea of giving superpowers to a teenager is shown realistically as many teenagers would do the same thing that Billy does. Mark Strong's Dr. Sivana was good, but not great. He worked for the movie but you probably won't remember him after a week. But he's not terrible, just good. The fight scenes are ok, when compared to the rest of the DCEU which makes sense considering Billy is a kid and the rest of the other characters are adults and gods. Overall, I had a great time and would recommend this movie even if you gave up on the DCEU as this one might win you back.
Going into this movie, I was open to whatever the film was going to offer. The reviews online didn't have an effect on me because it was very biased. After seeing the movie myself, I can say that this is a fun movie but not one that would rank high in the MCU. Brie Larson does a good job with what she's given and leaves me wanting more which we'll get in Endgame. Samuel L. Jackson gives my favorite performance of his in the MCU. Fury in this movie is more relatable and inexperienced which allows us the viewers to see growth throughout the movie. Ben Mendelsohn and Jude Law are also great in their roles. Mendelsohn's performance is able to solidify Talos as another great villain. The action scenes are fine but there's a lot left to be desired. They feel very plain and have no style or intensity. However, seeing Captain Marvel in her true glory was amazing and it leaves you believing that she could definitely help the Avengers. The story is also fine in that it's nothing groundbreaking but watchable. I feel this movie does its best when it's cracking jokes and being a buddy cop movie with Fury and Danvers. The references to the future of the MCU were also nice as it gives longtime fans something back after the countless hours they've spent in this universe. Overall, Captain Marvel is a good time at the movies and deserves at least a watch for yourself.
