Partway through the movie I looked at my partner and said, "Is it just me or is this really boring?" He agreed it was. At the end he said to me "What did we just watch?" You need to suspend all logic at the climax of the movie in order to believe it could happen that way. It's like Marvel was trying to avoid review bombs so they just made the most bland movie possible. The movie and the characters took themselves way to seriously. This movie is everything that was wrong with DC movies when Marvel was dominating at the box office. On top of that it was the most socially regressive movie in the Marvel universe so far. What a mess.
It's like after all the other characters got into relationships, they had no idea what to do with the character of Raj. The other characters grew in a positive way, Raj just kept becoming more of a jerk. It gets to the point where I wanted to fast forward every time he is on the screen. There was no other relationship drama for him so they made him a jerk to his friends. In this episode he goes back and forth between mean, self-centred, and whiny.
The last 3 seasons were okay, as long as Raj didn't have much to do in an episode. Any time he was featured he was showing that honestly, he was the worst person out of all of them. For a long time, no one could figure out why anyone would be Sheldon's friend, but by the end, I have no idea why anyone would put up with Raj. Sheldon didn't know any better. Raj knew what was right, but just kept treating his friends and girlfriends horribly despite knowing what he should do. This episode is just one example of that.
