The music is great, the characters are loveable out the gate, and I'm really looking forward to watching the rest of the season. I'm already on that first episode soundtrack on Spotify.
Also this show is an ANIMATED MUSICAL SERIES so it's a MUSICAL, like more than one song per episode. It seems self explanatory when you read the synopsis for the show as well as when you watch the trailer for the show. If you're not into that quirky, folk song, type musicals (or musicals in general) then just don't watch.

If I think back to when I was in middle school and how we acted and how dramatic things seemed, this show is accurate in how middle schoolers are. I think the show is cute.
When I see people rate this low just based on the fact that the "inappropriate" part of this show is the fact that girls the age where they normally get their period, mention and talk about their period (because believe me, when I was in middle school, that was actually a thing), it makes no sense. If you think about the demographic for the viewers of this show, which I would say probably includes girls who get what they are depicting in the show, it makes sense that they'd mention that. There's no reason to hide something that all girls go through and can actually have something in common with characters in the show. They're depicting what it's like to be a teen girl and just because it's a Disney show, doesn't mean it should be all rainbows and flowers and be ignorant and tells girls that it's still something to be ashamed of and having a period is "inappropriate", when it's just life.
I saw another review on here that she wrote scientific articles but she never mentions it, or anything about her personally either. I think it would benefit the show to have her connect with the audience, like most tv chefs and tell a story; I would have loved to hear some scientific things related to her articles, etc. because it tells me more about her.
To the people who are mad she's not saying anything about measurements in her recipes, cooking sometimes doesn't have to be that way! I like that she's so carefree with her recipes and seems so unrestrained; it reminds me of the "a little bit of this, a little bit of that" recipes from our grandmothers.
She seemed a little awkward at times, or like something was forced but I was watching her earlier episodes and whenever a tv chef first starts, they are always awkward so I can look past it.
