Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar-Jones in Fresh (2022)

  • Excellent.

I'm giving this 10 stars because it's a refreshing take on the typical horror/thriller genre. It's not a dark comedy although it doesn't take itself too seriously. Also, if you read every negative review of this movie it's just some appalled prude outraged that the entire movie didn't play out like the romcom lead up. Honey, it's a twisted gore flick, not The Holiday. Sebastian Stan is an absolute master of his craft and played the charming villain immaculately.

(Once again IMDB is making me add characters like I'm filling the word count for a high school essay, so here is some nonsense I hope you didn't actually read. Good day).

  • Possibly the worst thing I've ever watched.

I had hope during first episode, I thought give it a chance, maybe the actors just need to find their groove. I was extremely wrong. It's like the director specifically asked everyone to do their worst impersonation of a human being. The dialogue is disjointed, storyline is cliche after cliche, and the acting is just laughable. Netflix should be ashamed of this production. It's a cringey teen drama with zero redeeming qualities. Why am I still watching this? I don't know. Maybe I'm dead inside. Save your time though. This is straight trash.

  • Unexpectedly great

I adored this. It was unique, entertaining, and laugh-out-loud funny. The acting is great, the cinematography is beautiful, and I love the use of music to explain relationships between characters. If you have an odd and dark sense of humour, this is the show for you.

  • Sloppy

This is an interesting story but as others have stated it is poorly executed. It's very sporadic, the timeline jumps around way too much and there's heavy overuse of dramatic visuals (2 minute scene of the map and string) with very little information given. I also agree they are leaving so much out and came at this from the wrong angle. It's hard to have any sympathy for those conned when they're presented as being just. That. Daft.
