Emilia Fox is just stellar in her role as Sylvia Fox. The episodes are ao well plotted with engaging stories, excellent pacing and memorable characters. The international cast with Tara Fitzgerald, the charismatic Giovanni Cirfiera are all strong. Of course, how can you go wrong with Perugia/Umbria as a setting? Also, like the Harry Wilde series, Signora Volpe avoids becoming bogged down in the personal trials and tribulations, the demons, the whatever which often for me are both tedious and predictable. The writers, the producers seem to have created just the right balance in their heroine...
I tried watching the interview with Rep Jeffries.
When Brennan wasn't interrupting Jeffries, she was responding with hmm mm and "right" which told me she wasn't listening just waiting to peddle the next both sidesism talking point or sound bite. She was clearly more focused on badgering and achieving her own agenda, treating this very critical issue as some sort of contentious game between both sides. Of course with her probably 6 figures salary, Face the Nation is her personal showcase, and she demonstrates her indifference. There is no evidence of her understanding that this debt ceiling fight is manufactured by the Maga GOP to protect the 1% et al.

The Doctor Blake mysteries are the kind you can watch again and again. With an engaging cast, excellent ensemble acting, original story lines and fully developed characters you can really care about, I only wish there were more seasons coming, and we could look forward to Dr. Blake's return.
