  • Brutally Honest Review

Went in to see this with my wife who is not into Predator movies AT ALL. I am a fan however but also didn't have high expectations going in. Bottom line: we BOTH liked it. In fact my wife commented on how good it was as soon as we walked out which never happens. That said, the review. I have to admit, this movie does have a very different feel to it. Do not want to spoil it, but if you haven't watched it yet, do NOT go in expecting your "average us being hunted by Predators" film. I will just leave it at that. Anyhow, there are good things about this movie and there are also bad things as well. Here's what's bad about it: for a Predator movie, it has too many touchy feely moments, the ending felt rushed and not as impactful as you'd expect, and lastly, the ending leaves a lot of unanswered questions about where the next film will pick up at (after Prey? Or, Badlands?) and it's confusing since neither films are connected and both happen in two different eras. Not to mention we still have Predator: Killer of Killers. Not sure how or if it will play a role in this movie. Again, confusing. Moving on to the good. I like the Guardian of the Galaxy 1 mixed with 300 vibe of this film, it has an acceptable amount of comic relief, the graphics and effects were excellent, I also like the reversal of roles since it gives you a new and fresh take on Predator which I found refreshing, and even though it is PG-13, it still delivers with the brutal and "creative" kills (only it's on other aliens). All in all, it was still a good movie and the writers seem to make taking a turn for the better. It's definitely up there with Prey and Killer of Killers. Highly recommend you to watch if you are or aren't a fan of the franchise.

  • Please stop commenting on cutting her hair.

Seriously guys. Please stop commenting on cutting her hair. How much of a difference would it make? I don't know about most people but I can tell the difference between a man and a woman with short hair. Just because she cuts her hair doesn't mean no one will be able to tell the difference. As soon as you get within a hundred feet, you will know. Especially if you're one of the government hunters. I think most people missed the point of this movie because too much attention was on the most irrelevant things (like the hair cut). I thought it was a pretty good flick after all. It could have been better, but still a good 7 out of 10 IMO.

  • What did I just watch?

Judging by the trailer or movie synopsis you probably know by now that the main character comes across something in her data stream. Here is why I have a low rating for the movie.. it never tied off any loose ends. The loose ends I am referring to is the ...something... the main character comes across. We never see the outcome of it. The movie ends without telling you... whatever did happen to that ...something...which is the reason I am watching this. Other than that the movie has suspense and the storyline is decent minus the missing piece of the puzzle. This is probably the lowest rating I have given a movie so let that marinate for a while.
