The original Mulan is one of the best films every made, both in the story, characters and production. It makes you feel a wide range of emotions and leaves you on a high. Sadly the new Mulan has decided to ignore these ideas and instead makes a sort of super hero film.

It wipes away all the lessons that anyone can be someone as long as they work hard and believe and keep an open mind. Now its all about chi and if you don't have it that's the end of your hopes.

The sad thing is you can remove Mulan from the movie and but a male in and the film still makes sense.

I am not sure hwy modern story telling doesn't want to show or explain the hard work and sacrifices needed to be great but would rather just say magic and high five everyone.

The story s like an updated Jeeves and Wooster tale updated for 1980's.

I never know really what to think about this tale, I mean Arthur is pathetic loser at the end of the day and is allowed to get away with his escapades due to family finances. In any other film, his character and attitude would be deemed negative at best.

Also you cant look into the future, as living with Arthur must be a nightmare at the best of times and you know in years to come there will be an early death as well as chronic health issues.

I think most people would be on the Family's side with the idea that the whole fortune would be squandered by this idiot.

Despite all this there is a charm and love the characters allude that is irresistible , that you cant help rooting for them and overjoyed about how things work out. This is down to the amazing performances and very funny script.
