I gave it a 10, purely for its stellar action, yes it feels like it's sprinting along at a breakneck pace too fast for most to really follow without questioning what they know about the original series and what's missing, what I'll say is they condensed and focused this story to excell at the fights they did decide to implement, we all wish this was more fleshed out, but given the history of failed adaptations, and the joy I felt watching the action in this, I do have to say I was impressed, this should be seen and appreciated for what it is, the first true step in bringing YuYu Hakusho the attention it has deserved for over 30 years now, and the more love it receives, the more exposure it gets, the more new fans emerge to watch the old series, this resurgence could inspire not only a much more fleshed out live action Chapter Black Saga, but the continuation to the original series that we've all be waiting for.
It feels like a fan got put in charge of directing, and given a budget about a third of what they gave the Mandalorian, excellent casting choices with so-so performances, honestly this does not deserve the score of 9 it currently has, superfan nerds workin overtime, it all looks like it's straight filmed in a studio without any of the final sheen it should have had before being released, almost like every second is cut footage being shown, they needed someone working on the cinematography that wasn't just trying to generically copy/paste other SW scenes with poor results and execution, hopefully they fire whoever is directing this mess, add some real funding, and find their footing, it has potential, but sadly it's hemorrhaging and at this rate will die before it can grow.
