Starts off strong, but just kind of wains from there. I'm guessing they struggled to find anything more to write about, that's just how it seemed. Which is surprising considering all of the great air stuff out there, they could have done. Lots of anticipation for the show, only takes it so far, they actually have to deliver. I think they made it Top Gun Maverick orientated. Where nothing else is going on but what these guys are doing, then you hear about the occasional side missions where they had to make it more relevant. I thought it was way over the top. It could have made it better to watch, take for example, Catch 22. They made it totally tolerable. War is grungy, it sucks. But the extremities, we get that but there's just enemy air craft, and we don't really see much of direct stuff. They lost the plot, then went on. Somehow a huge budget can get you extreme fighting, with hardly any interaction, with the enemy or seeing them rather than afar, so it's all focused. I guess they didn't think that one out or consider it. A lot Hollywood up, some was just really important, but they failed to really portray that in a way that wasn't just ridiculous. Feel like they didn't portray at all certain aspects, and just tried making it work. Totally ridiculous. Good effort, but like they didn't even try to think a lot of these things out when they wrote this.
We don't get to see that many Roman era shows, but this one took the dramas of that time and put it into action, very much like I, Claudius which I throughly enjoyed. Very entertaining. The backlog of the characters was well portrayed, and throughly explained. This show doesn't lose steam, and keeps going strong. The costumes were fantastic, it made sense. Going into the roman world, there is a lot of intrigue, and this was captivated perfectly. The costumes, and the views, along with going back into an ancient world, and bring that to life was really something spectacular. This show has amazing themes, and overall great acting. Especially capturing a head of state in the Roman era, and how each character has their own personality, and believe so strongly. I loved how this was portrayed.
