Wow! Just saw "Inheritance," and at a theater no less. An amazing film. Feels like the big budget, A-list talent, story-driven films Hollywood used to make, but it's making waves on the indie scene. A stellar, unpredictable screenplay by Rachel Noll James from a story by James and Austin Highsmith Garces, who also play the leads, two estranged sisters who reunite following the death of their father. Everything about this film feels authentic, with real people facing fears, faults, the past, and finding inner strength; they're the superheroes in this gem.
Co-starring Wes Brown, Michelle Hurd, and Chris Mulkey under the expert direction of Emily Moss Wilson, stunning production design by Kate Melia, costumes by Kyle Kozyrev and gorgeous cinematography by Dan Clarke, this is a film you won't soon forget. In fact, I'm ready to watch it again. Let me add, I don't often get misty-eyed in a film anymore, but this one grabs hold and doesn't let go, in a good way. It'll be streaming soon, and look for it in film festivals around the country. Don't miss it.
