I enjoyed this show so much. It's gripping, intense but damn funny, too. It more than JUSTIFIES itself in honouring Elmore Leonard.
Walton Goggins is a serious talent - his character is incredible.
Don't hesitate in giving this show a chance, even if you're not much into Westerns (which this really isn't, of course).

This was my favourite show back in the late 80's and early 90's. I still watch the occasional episode on the original channels' (UK Channel 4) online archive and end up watching 3 or 4 more.
Damien's tabloid/sensationalist "journalism", Henry Davenport, the grand old curmudgeon/geriatric ladykiller, Sally, the original faux-celeb, with her lapses into born again evangelical christianity and the pleasures of lorry driver cabs, Gus, well sometimes I would laugh the second when he walked on set, poor, put upon George the luckless hypochondriac and most of all, the psychotic office admin, Joy, who Id love to believe was the inspiration for Ruth in Ozark.
Give it a try if you can, especially the awards ceremony episode if you want to get off to a flyer.
Genius stuff.
I love this show, but then, we'll, it's Tim Roth, isn't it - a virtual guarantee of quality.
Ok, so as a Briton (no, not Brit 🙂) I just love the fact that Cal is steadfastly British, or more accurately, a Londoner.
How are you enjoying some of the words he uses? Arse, not Ass? Oi, not hey? (They even fixed that on the subtitles after a few episodes) A word that rhymes with Tanker that begins with a W, used to suggest someone, um, likes to satisfy themselves? Even _ollocks, with a b. He should be called "Dave" really, no-one here is called Cal, but never mind.
PS, ABSOLUTELY NO OFFENCE INTENDED.
