A well acted and well produced film - especially if you love tear jerkers and are a Tom Hanks fan. Hanks, once again, transforms himself into a character you haven't seen before.
Yes, this movie is a remake of a Swedish film but trying to compare the two is a waste of time. Why not spend your time productively by comparing versions of Annie, King Kong, A Star is Born...
Also, some people will complain about political correctness (pc) and this version not being as good as the original. While the original is good, something gets lost when reading a movie instead of listening to it. Of course, it is well known that people who speak out against political correctness also speak Swedish.

Definitely a left leaning view of American politics but most, but not all, of their facts are easy to check and usually correct without much exaggeration. There does seem to be an abnormally high number of bad reviews and most of them read like they were copy and pasted from elsewhere. Do yourself a favor - before you let a good or a bad review sway your opinion go look at the reviewers reviews history. If they gave this film a bad review then see if they reviewed 2000 Mules or Trump Card. If they said this film was one-sided then did they say the same of the other films or are they obviously brigading films perceived to be left or right?
