Honestly feels more like an 80s throwback than a 90s movie when it comes to slang, fashion and general aesthetic. But I guess that can slide considering it's set in 1991.
What's more difficult to accept is that the two main characters are just 14 years old. Moose has the body of an 18 year old. The way they fast talk adults and cuss at children isn't believable in the slightest. There is a lot of screaming, tryhard witty banter, name calling, insults and juvenile behavior that at times turns characters into caricatures.
It has its moments, but it does get tedious at times. The potential was there, but the execution wasn't.
